Why is my charging session not starting?
There are several possible reasons why charging does not start. Common causes include the charger being offline, issues with the car or cable, or problems with access or payment on your user account.
Can charging fail because the charger is offline?
Yes. If the charger loses network connection, payment and activation cannot be completed, and charging will not start. Some chargers indicate this with a red light or an error message on the display. If several chargers at the same location show the same issue, the entire site may be offline.
A restart of the charger or related equipment often resolves the issue. Contact the building manager or maintenance staff if the restart must be done in a fuse cabinet or technical room.
Wattif is not responsible for keeping the charger online at all times, but we can assist if a restart does not solve the problem.
Can the charger be faulty?
Yes. A charger may have a technical defect and require service. If you are unsure whether the charger is within warranty or whether Wattif handles the warranty, you may contact us for assistance.
Can manufacturer updates affect charging?
Yes. Occasionally, the charger manufacturer may release updates that temporarily affect the charger’s functionality. This is outside Wattif’s control, but we can follow up with the manufacturer if needed.
Could the issue be the car or the cable?
Yes. A faulty cable or an issue with the car may prevent charging. We recommend testing the same car and cable on another AC charger nearby. If charging works there, the issue is likely with the original charger.
Can access issues or a blocked account prevent charging?
Yes. If your payment card has expired or a payment has failed, your account may be blocked, which prevents charging from starting.
You may also be missing required access to the site, especially if it is your first time charging there. Access is handled by your housing association or technical support.
